Add to this a vibrant nightlife and you’ll never be short of something to do.
If you're looking for a flavour as to the quality of Hillside, then the words of Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus are a good place to start. Double Open Champion Norman wrote an unsolicited note to the Club after playing in the PGA tournament at Hillside in 1982 stating that, "The back nine holes are the Best in Britain’ and Nicklaus described the course as, "a wild looking links", and that, "within the second nine are some of my favourite holes". After golf, check into the 4-star Bliss Hotel for 2 nights.
Originally laid out by Willie Park, Formby was remodelled by James Braid in 1922 and still features some of Braid's signature cross bunkers. The routing is a unique anti-clockwise circle around Formby Ladies and will keep you guessing on club selection all the way around.
A two time host to the Ryder Cup (1933 and 1937), Southport & Ainsdale is one of the very finest examples of a James Braid seaside links. It is a truly fantastic place to end any golf trip.
